Rade D. Paravina, DDS, MS, PhD is a tenured professor in the Department of Restorative Dentistry and Prosthodontics and Director of the John M. Powers, PhD, Center for Biomaterials and Biomimetics PCBB at the UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry. He holds the Ralph C. Cooley, DDS, Distinguished Professorship in Biomaterials, an endowment created by world-renowned heart surgeon Denton A. Cooley, MD. Dr. Paravina has authoredco-edited four books, 20 book chapters, two software programs, one educational CD, and more than 300 other peer-reviewed publications including articles and abstracts. Dr. Paravina designed andor developed several dental products and tests. His work has been cited in scientific databases such as Scopus over 6,600 citations, h-index 45 and Google Scholar over 12,800 citations, h-index 55, and has been included in Stanford's list of the World's Top 2% Scientists.Dr. Paravina is the President of the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry AAED, and serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry Wiley, Impact Factor, IF = 4.1, Q1, ranked #12162 journals in Dentistry, Oral Surgery & Medicine. He is an editorial board member for the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, International Journal of Prosthodontics, and the American Journal of Dentistry.
