The Mindset for the Selection of the Implant Treatment Strategies in the Esthetic Zone

Nowadays, there are many implant treatment concepts in the esthetic zone that have not been described. On one hand, the treatment goals are well known, but on the other hand, the steps needed to get there are sometimes incredibly stressful for our patients. It seems sometimes that the perfect results can only be attained with several surgical procedures.

We need to ask ourselves if we would be willing to go through this treatment nightmare ourselves, or if there might be alternatives that allow us to achieve the same good results with less effort. It may be that we need to develop new techniques and new ideas to fulfill these requirements. We need to question our treatment concepts.

PROMS should increasingly define our clinical handling without giving up the perfect treatment outcome.

In this presentation, new, different, modern surgical approaches will be put to the acid test. We need to look critically at these new surgical trends. Do they allow us to achieve the same predictable esthetic results with implants like the old, established concepts or do they end up with less perfect results?

At the conclusion of this lecture participants will have gained an understanding of:

  1. Understand the new trends in surgical approaches around implants
  2. Recognize the limitations and the drawbacks of new techniques
  3. Integrate biological understanding into the new surgical approaches to prevent failures
