AAED Announces 2006-2007 Executive Council
Chicago, IL (September 18, 2006) – The American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (AAED), the premier professional organization in the field of dental esthetics in the United States, is proud to announce the new slate of officers for the 2006-2007 year. The new Executive Council took office effective August 4, 2006 at AAED’s 31st Annual Meeting in Grand Cayman.

The American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry was formed in 1975 and has members from the United States and 11 other countries. Academy members, truly the elite professionals of this field, are internationally known for their work. Membership is by invitation only, and the Bylaws restrict the growth of the Academy’s membership in order to maintain the highest levels of excellence.
The Academy has developed an outstanding reputation for quality, with conferences recognized as major events in the dental community. The next meeting open to the entire dental community is the 2007 Esthetic & Restorative Update, to be held March 30-31, 2007 in Seattle, WA. AAED’s 32nd Annual Meeting, open to members and invited guests only, will take place August 1-4, 2007 at the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, CO. IFED/EAED 2004 Joint Meeting: Esthetic Reflections
“Esthetic Reflections”, the 4th World Meeting of the International Federation of Esthetic Dentistry (IFED) held in Venice, Italy last month was a huge success. Hosted by the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, the meeting was held May 27-29 at the “Cinema Palace” on the Lido Island, the venue of the famous Venice film festival. The Lido is a 10-15 min boat ride from Venice, a superb site for touring, elegant shopping and sophisticated dining.
Initially estimated to draw 700-900 participants, the meeting had to close registration when the number of participants reached 1500. With a capacity of 1000 in the main hall at the Cinema Palace, an additional auditorium had to be used for ‘overflow’ registrants. Live video was used to relay the lectures to the secondary hall. The scientific meeting included a 3 day program of the highest standard, a poster session with 55 poster presentation from around the world, and an elegant trade show by the sponsoring companies.
The 3 day scientific program included many prominent lecturers from various
countries, including the following fellows of AAED: Gerard Chiche, DDS; Mark
Friedman, DDS; David Garber, DMD, BDS; Abe Ingber, DDS; John Kois, DMD, MSD;
Masahiro Kuwata, CDT; Richard Lazzara, DMD, MScD; Ed McLaren, DDS and Henry
Salama, DMD. In addition, the following Academy fellows served as session moderators:
Harald Heyman, DDS, MEd; Dan Nathanson, DMD, MSD; Giano, Ricci, DDS, MD, MScD;
Peter Scharer, DMD, MS and Bernard Touati, DDS, DSO. Other Academy fellows who

The next IFED World Congress will be hosted by the Korean Academy of Esthetic Dentistry in Seoul, Korea in 2007.
